Born and raised in Israel, Vered Reznik has delighted audiences in solo and chamber music recitals throughout Europe, Israel and the United States. She now makes her home in New York where she performs in a diverse variety of chamber groups, and has become a highly sought after teacher.
Ms. Reznik gave her New York Debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall in 2012. She has also performed at the Vienna Konzerthaus, the European Parliament, Beethovenhaus in Bonn, the Tel Aviv and Israel Museums, Henry Crown Hall, and the Mishkenot Sha’ananim music center in Jerusalem. Vered has appeared at numerous festivals including the Bayreuth Festival (Germany), Janacek Festival (Czech Republic), and the Abu Ghosh and Israel Festivals. More recently, she has performed at venues throughout New York and Boston, including the Gardiner Museum, the Performing Arts Center at Purchase, Columbia University, the Goethe Institute, and the Emelin theatre. She was a featured performer on WQXR's "Young Artists Showcase”.
Growing up in Jerusalem, Vered started her piano studies with Ilana Gutman at the age of 7. As a young Israeli musician, she was a recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship for ten consecutive years and was awarded second prize at the foundation’s Claremont Piano Competition. She completed her Army service performing concerts for soldiers as part of the “Outstanding Musicians” program. She then received her B.M. from the Rubin Music Academy, studying under Prof. Michael Bogoslavsky. Throughout this time, she performed in master classes with Isaac Stern and Yo-Yo Ma, and pianists Menachem Pressler, Josef Kalichstein, and Claude Frank.
Vered started her international career in Vienna, when her Piano Trio was invited to study under the auspices of the renown Alban Berg Quartet. For the next four years, the Amber Trio performed and competed throughout Europe and in 1994 took first prize at the Jeunesses Musicale international competition. The trio recorded and performed live on Austrian, German, and Israeli radio and TV, and was featured in a televised documentary.
After earning her master’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Vered moved to New York to study closely with the late Sophia Rosoff, disciple of Abby Whiteside and mentor to many of today’s noted classical and jazz pianists. Through her performances and teaching, Vered serves as an active advocate of the Whiteside and Rossof school of playing.
Vered has been a member of the piano faculty at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, New York since 2008. She is on the board of the Westchester Musicians Guild and an active member of NYSMTA. She is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, and a member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT).
